Christianity in Crisis Video of the Week

Here we go. Mystic Charlatan, Patricia King, masquerading as preacher of the Gospel! Now, as I have said many times, words mean something. This is not just name calling, but describing exactly what is going on in this clip and in many others by Patricia King. Here is the definition of a "Mystic Charlatan". It is important to know what these words mean.

"Mysticism is the pursuit of achieving communion, identity with, or conscious awareness of ultimate reality, divinity, spiritual truth, or God through direct experience, intuition, or insight."

"A charlatan (also called swindler) is a person practising quackery or some similar confidence trick in order to obtain money or advantage via some form of pretence or deception."

Many of these so called preacher/teachers...claim they have special anointings, physical visitations from God and actual audible conversations with God. Many times private conversations. Well, the 2nd & 3rd century Gnostics also made these claims.

Here is a little history lesson. It will reveal to you that this is not a new practice.

Gnostic/Gnosticism

The estimation of the world, owing to the above, as flawed or a production of 'error' but nevertheless as good as its constituent material might allow. This world is typically an inferior simulacrum of a higher-level reality or consciousness. The inferiority may be compared to the technical inferiority of a painting, sculpture, or other handicraft to the thing(s) of which those crafts are supposed to be a representation. In certain other cases it is also perceived as evil and constrictive, a deliberate prison for its inhabitants;
The explanation of this state through the use of a complex mythological-cosmological drama in which a divine element 'falls' into the material realm and lodges itself within certain human beings; from here, it may be returned to the divine realm through a process of awakening (leading towards salvation). The salvation of the individual thus mirrors a concurrent restoration of the divine nature; a central Gnostic innovation was to elevate individual redemption to the level of a cosmically significant event;
Knowledge of a specific kind as a central factor in this process of restoration, achieved through the mediation of a redeemer figure (Christ, or, in other cases, Seth or Sophia).

And there you have it.. This is nothing more than a shinning example of Gnosticism repacked in the 21st Century. Mythological-cosmological drama at its finist. This is not preaching the gospel, this is putting experiences and eliments of power as proof of salvation and a spirit filled life . I can assure you of this. The Gnostics did not live a spirit filled life, but a material filled life and this is a carbon copy of Gnosticism. This is not the true gospel.

So inlight of this, what does scripture say?

Here is Paul writting to the church of Galatia.

Gal 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

Gal 1:7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

Gal 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Gal 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Gal 1:10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

Gal 1:11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

Gal 1:12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

What is the gospel? Read Romans: Chapters 1-3 Will put you to your knees... I am guilty of sin and all hope of earning God's favor is gone (I have broken the law). Chapters 4-5 Here is what Jesus has done to justify the ungodly (the good news). Chapter 6 This gospel not only is great enough to Justify you, but sanctify you as well. This is the good news of the gospel. Also read Romans chapters 7,8,9 and 10.

The gospel is not having mystical power in the name of Jesus, pillars of glory and hypnotic phrases.... The gospel is what has been given to us by our blessed savior Jesus Christ. Proclaiming Christ's doing, dying and rising for us.

If you hear any other gospel preached say, "Whoaaa!" and receive it not.

by His Grace alone,

Bill

She is a quack! Recently, my dad's listening to some other lady that was saying that Jesus evolved into his manhood. I forget the ladies name though. The lady in her book was thanking the 7 spirits of God and a mystic who she said was the "martin Luther" of the day. I'm like what are you listening to that for!?!?! He said her teaching on Romans were great...I'm like what...if you have the wrong Jesus...obviously you have the wrong gospel. If God isn't triune, than you don't have Christianity....it's called a non-christian cult!

Well Ken that's how the quacks do it. Mix in a little truth with a lot of error. Maybe she did a decent job on Romans. However she nullifies any truth she may have said with that other junk.
