Does God Care What We Call Him?

Outgoing Roman Catholic bishop in the Netherlands thinks not... Retiring bishop, Tiny Muskens, said "God doesn't care what he is called". Tiny is from the southern dioceses of Breda.

In an interview with Dutch television, Muskens made this statement. "Allah is a very beautiful word for God. Shouldn't we all say that from now on we will name God Allah?.. What does God care what we call him? It is our problem."

As I have stated in my article on Billy Graham, there is this big push to mesh all religions together... This thinking is becoming more and more common.

This is not our problem, this is Muskens problem. Here is why!!!!!!

No man comes to the Father but by Jesus
Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

What about the First and Second commandments!!!!

Exo 20:2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

Hmmm...
Exodus 23:13 And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.

Why would we consider paying homage to Allah?
Jer 25:6 And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.

Exodus 34:14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:

Psa 148:13 Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.

Eph 1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

Php 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

Muskens is simply a liar and a deceiver, the truth is not in him. Though I disagree with Catholics on Theology. I know that even the Catholic base will not accept Muskens argument...

It is clear to me that Muskens hasn't studied the Bible at all. Muskens has created God in his own image.

Names do mean something. And God demands to be worship the way he wills...Not the way we think he should be!!!!

Yeah, I was watching the catholic channel the other day and one of the other theologians said that Allah was the name of God. Allah isn't the Triune God self-revealed in Scripture or has any part of the Tri-personality of God.

You are absolutely right. Man thinks he is the final authority. Man thinks he can label God whom ever he believes he is. There are several names for God in the scriptures and Allah is not one of them.

but you know Bill we know charismatics who believe they are the final reference point in human predication and that God can't move unless they allow him too and that's contrary to Scripture. They basically will say that all things are possible for themselves "that believe", but when it comes to God it's not true. Basically then He isn't Lord...sovereign Lord and they are self autonomous. I've had to use the same arguments in dealing with some charismatic leaders that you and I know personally, that I would only would think of using with atheist.

Ditto, I agree totally. I have had to deal with many of these same issues with charismatics. They absolutely do not understand the sovereignty of God. These people do not like the things we preach now and many do not even wish to be friends anymore. They would rather sit with ease watching the Simpson's and Family Guy night after night and not even think about the things we now preach.

The biggest problem I see with the "church" today and even more with the charismatics is that these so called "christians" are living like this world is their home...
